A gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth has arrived at CommuniCore Hall for the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and just like the real thing, it lights up to a little music show.

Gingerbread Spaceship Earth

A decorative spherical structure with a gingerbread-inspired geometric design is displayed indoors, surrounded by flowers. People walk around it in the background, reminiscent of a miniature Earth scene at Epcot.

Gingerbread Spaceship Earth is eight feet tall and took the pastry team more than 160 hours to craft.

Marvel at the gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth, showcasing its intricate engineering. Discover fascinating facts about the ingredients and time invested, all while admiring decorative patterns and a detailed illustration of this iconic spherical structure.

The creation was made using:

  • 240 pounds of honey dough
  • 100 eggs
  • 100 ounces of lebkuchen spice
  • 55 pounds of dark chocolate
  • 100 pounds of royal icing

Other Walt Disney World gingerbread displays this year include the Grand Floridian gingerbread house, gingerbread Cinderella Castle at Contemporary Resort, “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” gingerbread carousel at Beach Club, gingerbread BoardWalk Deli, and gingerbread animals (including a new flamingo) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

People gather at a kiosk with a sign reading "Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow," while a gingerbread Spaceship Earth model captures their imagination at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

At the nearby Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow holiday kitchen, guests can purchase a Spaceship Earth tile gingerbread triangle just like the ones used to make this edible version of the EPCOT park icon. Almost 1,000 triangles make up the geodesic sphere.

There are 11 hidden Mickeys, each representing one of the World Showcase pavilions.

A large spherical gingerbread display, reminiscent of a gingerbread spaceship, is adorned with lights and marked "Citizen" at the base. Visitors eagerly observe and photograph this creation in a festively decorated indoor setting.

After a Celebration Countdown, presented by CITIZEN, the gingerbread Spaceship Earth lights up with a small show set to music much like the real Spaceship Earth does at night. The show is presented every 10 minutes.
