As the 70th anniversary celebration for Disneyland approaches, Clarabelle Cow was spotted on Main Street with a new outfit and was flanked by a child wearing an anniversary Mickey ears hat.

Clarabelle Cow sported a new colorful outfit in an early look at a 70th anniversary celebration outfit today at Disneyland. Topped by a predominantly pink bow with blue and orange stripes, Clarabelle waved to the crowd on Main Street USA. Her blouse layers gold, purple, blue, and red over a salmon base paired with a blue skirt accented with gold. Her cowbell, traditionally silver, is gold in honor of the anniversary. To Clarabelle’s left, a young girl wears a new design of Mickey ears celebrating the anniversary.

With a classic black cap, the ears feature rainbow ears and a rainbow edging across the bottom. “70 Disneyland” appears below a castle logo with the castle in pink, 70 in purple and Disneyland in blue.

Disneyland opened to the public on July 17, 1955 after just one year of construction. Disney is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the park this year beginning May 16. Special events, a new cavalcade “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy”, and characters dressed in special anniversary costumes will all be part of the celebration at the Disneyland Resort this summer. 75th anniversary outfits for the Fab Five – Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto – were posted by Disney on X (formerly Twitter) earlier.
Clarabelle Cow’s film debut came “The Shindig” in 1931. Clarabelle frequently appeared with friend Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck through the early 1940s but was not seen again in film except for cameos until 1990 with “The Prince and The Pauper”. Despite the lack of screen time, Clarabelle appears as a costumed character at Disney theme parks.
