Construction Walls Now Installed at Haunted Mansion Gift Shop in Disneyland

New construction walls have been erected both outside and inside Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond in Disneyland Park.

Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond

As we reported earlier this week, Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond has been slated to receive some repair work. Now, construction walls have already been installed around a large section of the store.

The new construction walls are mostly outside, to the right of the store building. The walls have already been painted a dark emerald green, and black lanterns have been installed every few feet. Metal barriers have also been placed along both sides of the walls to prevent guests from leaning on them.

The new walls wrap around the corner of the building and stop before what is now the only entrance to the store.

Along the right side, every other panel has been covered in themed posters. Many of them have drawings showcasing different phases of the moon in a style reminiscent of fortune teller cards.

Posters placed closer to the entrance look like handwritten notes. One poster says “Let the spirits guide you to Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond” and has an arrow pointing to the entrance. The other poster encourages guests to “Come in and explore oddities from regions beyond” and is signed by Madame Leota herself.

The walls running down the right side of the store reach all the way to the boat path for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The support for the edge wall has been wrapped in a black tarp.

Since the walls run down the whole right end of the store, they also cover what is usually the building’s second entrance. The second entrance has been blocked from the inside to keep guests from entering the construction area. The photo on the right shows the entrance prior to the construction walls being installed.

Like the outdoor walls, this indoor wall has been painted green with stripes to resemble wood planks. Perhaps fitting with the backstory for the building, the wall looks like a large carriage house door.

The posters on this wall show full-color concept art for the store that was previously released online by Disney.

A hanging sign reads "Madame Leota's Somewhere Beyond" against a backdrop of whispering trees and a twilight sky, inviting you to step into the mysterious beyond.

The construction work around the store involves replacing some of the nearby concrete to improve water drainage in the area. The construction began on February 3 and is expected to last around a month, though no exact timeframe has been announced. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond is still operating for normal hours during the construction.

Madame Leota’s Somewhere beyond is a store located near the exit area for the Haunted Mansion. The location opened to the public in late December 2024, shortly before the return of the refurbished Haunted Mansion. If you want to see more of the interior and exterior prior to the construction, we have a full photo and video tour.

  1. Maybe they still are within their return period to Legacy for this prefab tool shed. I still cannot believe the Disneyland team was allowed to place a prefab tool shed inside the park! And yet the park has never been more expensive to visit.
