During our recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we observed that construction walls had been set up around the Plaza Restaurant.

The green walls were in place around the left side of the restaurant near the entrance to the Tomorrowland Terrace.

The walls cover the windows and flower beds that sit near the door. The flower boxes above the awning were devoid of any flowers at the time. The restaurant is still accessible through an entrance point left open between the construction walls.

In 2024, the Plaza Restaurant underwent a refurbishment that was completed in September. The area currently behind the construction walls received refreshed paint and cleaned lighting fixtures. The main building also received some TLC with refreshed paint, cleaned lighting fixtures, an updated menu box, and more.

The Plaza Restaurant directional sign to the left of the building remains intact.

When we returned to the Magic Kingdom the next day, brown scrims had been added to the construction walls. The scrims are now attached to the top of the green walls and reach all the way to the peak of the Plaza Restaurant roof.

As before, the Plaza Restaurant is still accessible through a pathway left open between the green walls. This path is now much darker, as the brown scrims cover over the top and block most of the sunlight.

The brown scrims wrap all the way around the circular roof and end when the reach the building facades on either side. You can see the metal framework holding the scrims in place when the sun shines through.
