In a recent release sent to Disney Travel Agents, the Menehune Bridge water play area located at Aulani will be closing for a lengthy refurbishment.

According to the release, the play area will be completely unavailable to all guests starting on April 21. Menehune Bridge is expected to reopen on May 16, 2025. The announcement also warns that guests may see or hear construction taking place in the area throughout the refurbishment period, but the noise will stop between dusk and 8 a.m.

During the closure of Menehune Bridge, small children are encouraged to take advantage of the other water features at the resort. The Keiki Cove splash zone, Waikolohe Pool and Stream, Ka Maka Pool & Grotto, and the two resort water slides will all remain open.

It is not uncommon for water areas at Aulani to go under refurbishment. Previously, the Ka Maka Pool was refurbished for about three weeks in October 2023.

Menehune Bridge is a 2,100-square-foot water play area specifically for children under 48 inches tall. The location includes two water slides, spinning gourds, a climbing structure, and interactive water features. The area’s name comes from the legendary Menehune, who are depicted in statue form throughout the space.
