Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit to modify the infrastructure for the Tree of Life Theater that currently houses “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
New Permit Filed for Tree of Life Theater
The Notice of Commencement is listed as “Modify Infrastructure.” Imagineering has contracted Incryo Systems Inc. Per their website, Incryo Systems Inc. is a “well-qualified manufacturer of all types of cryogenic vaporizers and industrial gas equipment.”
The permit may relate to the fog system that is used within the show scenes that include the black widow spiders and hornets. It is possible, based on this filing, that Imagineering could re-use this show element for “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”
Last week, Imagineering also filed a permit for demolition and construction at the Tree of Life Theater ahead of the permanent closure of “It’s Tough to be a Bug!”
“It’s Tough to be a Bug!” will permanently close next week, with the last day of operation on March 16, 2025. The show was an opening-day attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom inspired by the Pixar film “A Bug’s Life.”
Replacing the show will be “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” It will feature characters from the film “Zootopia,” such as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. A new original song will debut with the show, performed by Ginnifer Goodwin, the voice of Judy Hopps.
“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” is scheduled to open in winter 2025.
