Long time, no see, y’all; this is your one and only Nana. Happy to be back here. It has been REALLY busy and keeping me going. (Sometimes it’s better to be busy.)

Three people sit at an outdoor restaurant table with food, joined by a costumed chipmunk character, capturing the whimsical charm you'd expect at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I hope you guys read my February Buc-ee Merchandise Update! I threw in some food reviews this time, and maybe I’ll do more Buc-ee food reviews going forward.

Anyways, I am back to write Nana’s death note Princess Diary. Let the magic begin, shall we?

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Jambo! from Disney’s Animal Kingdom (two days in a row.)

People gather and stroll around a spacious courtyard, with a large tree resembling the Tree of Life in the background, under a clear blue sky—a scene reminiscent of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

This morning, I ran into a lovely lady who reads these (Nana’s Princess Diary), She gave me some kind words! Thank you and I hope you are having great birthday!

The reason why I am here is to rope drop “It’s Tough to Be a Bug,” which is set to close in a day. I am not a big fan of this, I call it torture. Since they restored lots of effects, the bug spray is getting me really good. This used to be my favorite show, but as I get old, I can’t deal with those effects.

In the dimly lit theater of Animal Kingdom, a stage display showcases a vibrant green leaf adorned with the words "It's Tough to Be a Bug!" surrounded by lively animated insect characters, bringing an immersive experience to life.

I’ve been taking pictures of the queue and the theater since yesterday. I am excited about the new Zootopia theme, but also sad.

I thought about looping the show, but I had to rope drop EPCOT for Gran Fiesta Tour.

EPCOT

Morning from EPCOT. It is Spring Break so the parking booth is also on break too…

Cars lined up at the entrance to EPCOT, greeted by a large welcome sign above.

Jokes aside, I am rope dropping TWO parks today. How exciting, right?

A lively crowd gathers under a sign that reads "Entrance" at an outdoor venue reminiscent of EPCOT. The area is shaded with trees, and a charming building peeks through in the background.

Fast walk to Mexico! Speaking of fast walks… GUESS WHAT? I signed up for ANOTHER FULL MARATHON FOR WDW MARATHON WEEKEND 2026.

Illustration of Disney characters in athletic attire promoting Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, held January 20-26, with text asking "What's your story?" and sponsor State Farm. Experience the magic and adventure that runs from EPCOT to Disney's Animal Kingdom.

YES I KNOW, I AM CRAZY and YES I DO NOT KNOW WHY I SIGNED UP FOR IT. I am regretting it a bit right now…

Birds perch on a multi-unit birdhouse with numerous white compartments, resembling an enchanting scene you'd find at Disney's Animal Kingdom, all set against a clear blue sky.

On the way to Mexico, I stopped by the Purple Martins’ house to hear them gossiping about how EPCOT is not changing the way Disney Adults hoped.

I might be weird, but I love hearing birds’ tweets. (Hey, I am the person who watches CatTok before I go to sleep.)

Made it to Mexico and guess what? They are running!

The exterior of this pyramid-like building at EPCOT showcases Mesoamerican decor, with a "Gran Fiesta Tour" sign depicting three animated characters. Steps and a lamppost grace the foreground under a clear sky.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros was on refurbishment for two months and now it’s back! Gran Fiesta is always a special place for Japanese guests.

Three cartoon characters perform on stage with musical instruments under a spotlight, set against an arched backdrop and red curtain, reminiscent of the lively atmosphere at Universal Studios Florida.

The animatronics of the Three Caballeros in the finale used to be at the Mickey Mouse Review in Tokyo Disneyland. I grew up with them and I still remember the show. We are both from Tokyo Disneyland and now living in WDW.

After uploading Gran Fiesta Tour to YouTube, I started my EPCOT loop, but to be honest, I haven’t done the EPCOT loop for a while. I usually go to Hollywood Studios on Saturday morning to do a loop, so I felt off.

Norway was quiet today, China was also quiet, but then…

I found A DUCK FAMILY.

A duck family was swimming by China. I stayed a few minutes to see them. They are so precious.

A covered outdoor area at EPCOT features colorful drums, stone tables, and a "Music Refreshments" sign. Nearby, vending machines and a wooden barrel add to the charm.

At the refreshment outpost, what are these stone benches and tables? Ummm… okay, I guess. I will bring my bubble tea from China and enjoy it there while the kids do musical concerts.

Tall, rectangular building under renovation at EPCOT wrapped in a printed cover resembling the structure. Clear sky and surrounding architecture visible.

Ciao to the printed Bell Tower! I don’t hate it.

American Adventure was also quiet, so I flew down to Japan.

When I go to the snack section in Japan Pavilion, I always help guests who can’t read what the snacks and candies are. Today, I thought about writing what I like because you know I don’t like the food everybody likes (like sourdough; Tom was wondering why I gave a 0 to the sourdough at Lunar New Year food review.) So you know, I might have been eating some weird stuff. So here it is.

Shelves brimming with Japanese snacks and packaged foods transport you to a whimsical world, resembling the curated detail you'd find at EPCOT's pavilions. Displayed in baskets on wooden racks against a soothing green wall, it's an adventure for your taste buds.

These are the top three of Nana’s favorite snacks that Nana would like to recommend.

1: Polinky Corn Soup Flavor

A hand holds a bag of Koikeya corn soup flavored chips in a store aisle at EPCOT. The yellow bag features a cartoon design and is labeled "Crunchy triangle!" with Japanese snacks enticingly displayed in the background, evoking a whimsical blend of flavor and adventure.

Oh my god, I love Polinky Corn Soup Flavor so much. They’re similar to Bugles in the States. Crispy and airy, it definitely has an artificial corn flavor, but that’s the best part. Japanese people are so obsessed with corn soup flavor and corn soup. In the winter season, you can buy corn soup from a vending machine.

2: Sapporo Potato Mix Vegetables

A hand holds a bag of Calbee Sapporo Potato veggie snacks in front of shelves stocked with various packaged snacks, reminiscent of the colorful displays you'd find at EPCOT, immersing you in a world of unique flavors and cultures.

This is a Japanese version of Veggie Straws but more flavorful. The taste is sharper than the Veggie Straws and you can taste more potato. I always taste some weird oxidized oil flavor from Veggie Straws.

3: JagaRico Umami Seaweed

A person holds a package of Calbee JagaRico Umami Seaweed flavored potato snacks, reminiscent of unique flavors you'd savor strolling through EPCOT, in front of a store shelf lined with similar tempting treats.

JagaRico never disappointed me. Another potato based snack. It’s like french fries, but way much more flavorful and crispy! They have different flavors like original, Umami Seaweed, Hokkaido Butter, and Cheese. I love seaweed, so I must pick seaweed.

I am sure you guys were expecting something sweet, like mochi and Kit Kats. I am a savory person than sweet, now you know why I am not good at dessert food reviews.

Walked Morocco, France, and BoardWalk…

On the way back to EPCOT, I saw a BABY TURTLE. It’s definitely a good day that you are running into all kinds of animals. (I am like Dr. Dolittle.)

AFV was voting today, I wish I could vote but they closed for the registration… So hopefully next time.

I didn’t see much on the front, I was so ready to leave EPCOT… I even went to Starbucks to get myself an iced tea since there was no line.

But Groot said “NOT YET.” HA! Groot topiary is playing music AGAIN!

Last year, two other Disney bloggers and I spent over two hours to get all the songs and I get to do this again this year…

@wdwnt

I am Groot! (Music is back 🎶) This year, we got “Disco Inferno” added to the Green-House Mix 🥹 ✨ You can feel a little bit like you’re on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind 😉 What’s your favorite song? Let us know in the comments 📝 #wdw #disneyparks #epcot #waltdisneyworld #disney #marvel

Thank Figment, this year Groot topiary is playing music every 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes. AAAAND, the song that was not playing last year is PLAYING THIS YEAR! Did you hear what the mystery song was? Next year, I am hoping my favorite song “Everybody wants to rule the world” will get to play there.

After posting on Instagram and TikTok, so I made my way to Universal.

Universal Studios Florida

I totally forgot that today was a Mardi Gras concert night… The parking was busy, so the park entrance.

Sign at the Animal Kingdom entrance detailing the Photo Validation process. Guests can choose to use Face Recognition for faster access or opt-out. Includes a QR code for more information.

Did you know, if you are an AP holder and if you used facial recognition to enter, the app thinks you are not the park and won’t be able to sign up for the Mardi Gras Virtual Queue? This has happened to me more than twice, and happened to my friend too. Even if you go to guest service, they will just tell you to go re-enter from the entrance. So today, I asked this TM to scan my AP instead of face recognition, they casually said “You don’t need to, just scan your face.”

App screen displaying a virtual line for the Mardi Gras Parade. The message reads "Ineligible Travel Party Members," prompting you to enter Disney's Animal Kingdom and try again later.

Guess what? My app said “You are not in the park.” It’s fine, I am not dying to ride the float. But Universal has not fixed this issue and TM refused to scan it when I asked them nicely today. I am just hoping the people who want to ride the float won’t face into this issue.

Anyways, I came here to get this year’s Mardi Gras coins! They have three colors and have the 30th logo on. You can get/ earn them from some performers.

This was pretty much it for the day. I am going back to Animal Kingdom to close “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” tomorrow.

Thank you for reading Nana’s death note Princess Diary, I will see you real soon!

Have a magical day!
