In a recent update from aerial photographer bioreconstruct, the fountains in Epic Universe have now been spotted testing at full power.
Epic Universe Fountain Testing
Aerial photographer bioreconstruct is back to provide even more photos of Epic Universe as the park draws ever nearer to its official May 22 opening date. In this latest set of images, all of the fountains in Celestial Park have been seen testing at what appears to be full strength for the first time.
Celestial Park is known for having two large bodies of water visible from the skies above the park. The large circular fountain on the right is called the Cosmos Fountain. The water on the left side doesn’t have a specific name we know of yet, but it surrounds the Constellation Carousel attraction.
The fountains in the lake surrounding Constellation Carousel were all testing at the same time. These fountains appear to be angles so they arch across the sky, seemingly joining as the end of one stream marks the beginning of another.
We also know from one of bioreconstruct’s nighttime visits that the fountain surrounding Constellation Carousel has lights running in straight lines across the water. These lights are linked to the overall lighting effects for Celestial Park and can change colors.
The high-powered fountains at the Cosmos Fountain were also spraying water. Universal has said these jets can shoot higher than the roof of the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, but “we’re gonna probably try not to because we know how the winds get in Florida and if we did that, we would drench everyone in the park.”
Zooming in a little closer, we can see how the various jets inside and around the fountain are arranged. It appears jets shooting water in an arc are situated around the edge of the fountain and are pointed toward the center. One large jet is placed directly in the middle of the circle, with a ring of high-powered jets surrounding it. A few more jets run from the center in straight lines toward the outer edge.
While most of the jets in the middle of the Cosmos Fountain are plain, the fountains around the edge of the circle are a bit more ornate. It appears these edge jets have been themed to match the “1850s to 1930s aesthetic” of Celestial Park. The housing for the jets is gold, with a circular front face and metallic flaps around the center of each water stream.
One final fountain area spotted testing is the waterfall-style area across from Atlantic Restaurant. Atlantic is described as an out-of-this-world glass aquarium with floor-to-cleaning windows on the side facing the water. The white columns and windows of Atlantic are seen in the right half of the above picture.
Bioreconstruct noted in his post that the fountains near Atlantic have a chase pattern between the two pools. The fountains near the top of the waterfall begin the chase, with the fountains in the lower pool getting activated in order of their placement.
With these fountains all testing, most of the water features in Epic Universe seem to be nearly complete. One of the only major water features still not seen operating is Astronomica, the interactive water play area across from Constellation Carousel.
If you want to see more of the fountain testing, bioreconstruct also posted a flyover video on his YouTube channel:
