Sonny Eclipse has gone missing from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, leaving the stage empty.
Sonny Eclipse Missing from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
We first noticed that Sonny wasn’t performing on March 19. He is missing from the stage, and in place of his platform is a different setup that is typically used for special events at the quick-service dining location.
Sonny’s whole set can be raised into the ceiling above him to accommodate DJs and bands that perform during special events.
Seen above is Sonny and how his set appears when he is present and performing for guests.
Sonny has a set of eight songs that he performs throughout the day on a continuous loop that’s approximately 26 minutes long. A few of the songs included in the set are “My Name is Sonny Eclipse,” “Hello Space Angels,” and “Yew Nork, Yew Nork.” Sonny has backup singers that are invisible Space Angels and is said to be from the planet Zork.
While it’s unclear why Sonny is currently missing, it’s possible he may not be operational at this time and was removed from guests’ view while being repaired.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe originally opened in 1994 as part of a larger Tomorrowland overhaul in Magic Kingdom.
The quick-service restaurant offers a selection of bacon cheeseburgers, chicken strips, plant-based burgers, and other offerings.
