The “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” billboard has been removed from the side of the Animation Courtyard Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The show itself has permanently closed with a new “The Little Mermaid” show on the way.
Billboard Removed

The show’s billboard had been in place since 1992, when the show itself debuted. It replaced “Here Come the Muppets.”
“Voyage of the Little Mermaid” was one of the last things at Walt Disney World that had yet to reopen after the 2020 COVID-19 closures that shut down the resort. After much speculation about its failure to return, Disney announced that the show was permanently gone in December 2023.
Construction walls went up in summer 2024. The iconic marquee was repaired in late 2024, inviting speculation that it would be reused for the new show. It was then removed in late January 2025.
The billboard remained until March 10, 2025, albeit in poor condition. Like many billboards and signs in Central Florida, it suffered damage from continual sun exposure.

The photo above was taken on March 8, 2025, one of the last days it was in place.
The new show is called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and will feature puppets alongside live and digital characters (including a “larger-than-life Ursula). It was originally set to debut in fall 2024, but was ultimately delayed to summer 2025.
The show will include all the same songs as its predecessor as well as “Daughters of Triton.” It will be based on the original animated film.
