More track has been installed at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom as the lengthy refurbishment continues.

Refurbishment work at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad continues to progress as crews are laying even more new track. Above the lift hill you can see the crane with a new track piece attached.

We spotted a crew member on the lift hill near the new piece of track.

Back at the front of the mountain, around one of the curves of the coaster layout, more new track pieces have been installed.

Above is another area where new track has been installed. Scaffolding is still present on either side of the track.

There is still more track that will need to be added as you can see where this portion of track ends.

In our last update, we observed that crews had laid some fresh concrete. This area has received some as well as it’s being prepped for more track to be installed.

The area that curves into the cavern is also being prepped for new track as the holes are filled in and cement will be added just like the other areas.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will remain closed until at least 2026. When it reopens the attraction will include “a little bit of new magic.”
