The design process begins with a sketch that then becomes a digital model, which then is made into a maquette 3D model before being constructed into the final result.

Imagineer Jay explains they look at shadows, highlights, and the fine details that guests will see on this larger-than-life Spider-Man figure.

This will be the first time in Disney Cruise Line history that a Marvel superhero will be featured as the signature stern character. The figure is in its final stage of completion and will eventually be installed among the filigree on the back of the ship. The stern will depict Spider-Man decorating the stern with help from his Spider-Bots.

The Disney Destiny will embark on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship will showcase a heroes and villains theme and will debut multiple brand-new experiences, including a “Hercules” Broadway-style stage show, Disney and Marvel villain encounters, and more.
