The beginning of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration has nearly arrived, and the resort is continuing to prepare with more signs, turrets, flags, and other decorations.
Disneyland 70th Anniversary Decorations

With Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration set to officially begin on May 16, the resort is continuing to prepare by adding more “70” decor. First, at World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District, new “Disneyland 70” window stickers have been installed. The first sticker is a blue color with a light blue “D” and the official “70” logo in the center. The letter is surrounded by several animated characters including Lightning McQueen, Miguel, Stitch, the Mad Hatter, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, and more.

Another sticker is a light teal blue color with a stylized cartoon of Sleeping Beauty Castle in pink, blue, and purple. Tinker Bell flies above the castle and has sparkles of pixie dust floating from her wand. The full resort wordmark and 70 logo are printed at the bottom.

The final window sticker at World of Disney is bright pink with a periwinkle blue “D” and the 70 logo in the center. This sticker has most of the same characters as the first, but a few new additions include Merlin, Mr. Toad, and the Hatbox Ghost.

Also in the Downtown Disney District, new “70 Celebrate Happy” signage has been added in the garden near the yellow and orange fountain.

The colors of the signage match most of the official items for the anniversary with shades of pink, blue, and gold. The turrets of Sleeping Beauty Castle stick up from the top of the number “70.”

Moving to the esplanade between Disneyland and California Adventure, work continues on the new 50-foot sculpture inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Since our last update, the castle has now received two turrets on either side of the main castle roof. The turrets are mounted on gold posts with a pink interior and blue, semi-transparent cones on the top.

The sculpture now looks much closer to the concept art revealed by Disney, which shows the castle will have multicolored glass panels and charms that represent the five original lands of Disneyland.

Over by the main entrance to Disneyland Park, some of the first 70th anniversary decorations have started appearing as well.

Above the rectangular sections of the roof covering the turnstiles, displays of colored flags have been added. The small triangular flags use the same celebration colors of pink, blue, and gold.

The middle of Main Street U.S.A. is starting to be prepped for what Disney has confirmed will be a 70th anniversary display with the official celebration logo alongside figures of Mickey and Minnie. So far, this grassy space has received some new turf.

Finally, the Emporium in Disneyland Park has received art of the Fab Five wearing their new costumes behind the various checkout counters. This gold rectangular frame shows Donald wearing his indigo sailor hat and multicolored shirt on a purple background.

On the left side of this same counter, another gold frame has Daisy wearing her new outfit. Daisy’s usual clothes are replaced by an indigo dress with a multicolored frilly skirt.

Minnie is also wearing a new dress in pink, purple, and blue with a matching bow. Unlike Donald and Daisy, she is on a blue background.

Finally, Mickey is shown near one of the store’s entrances wearing his new indigo jacket with purple pants, yellow shoes, and a gold starry top.

As one more decoration, the Emporium has added a 3D model of Sleeping Beauty Castle in the style of the celebration’s logo. The castle display has twinkling lights that turn on periodically throughout the day.
The Disneyland Resort 70th anniversary celebration officially begins on May 16 and runs through the summer of 2026. Other announcements for the anniversary include a special Muppets preshow before “World of Color Happiness,” the return of Paint the Night Parade, and the return of “Wondrous Journeys.”
