The stand-by and Lightning Lane sign for “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” has been installed in Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Entrance Sign

The new “Little Mermaid” show replaces “Voyage of the Little Mermaid,” which never reopened following the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown. The theater is being refreshed to coincide with the new show’s opening, with construction visible in the queue. Rolling planters blocked access to the outdoor queue, but have mostly come down.

The new entrance sign is located just before the entrance to the theater. It’s dark blue with a teal wave border. A digital box on the left will display showtimes. “Stand-By Entrance” is next to that box, while “Lightning Lane” is on the right side of the sign. A star and seaweed are in the center, and bubbles accentuate the design. A removable medallion reads “Coming Soon,” so guests know the show isn’t open yet.

The sides and back of the sign are gold-tone.
Though it appears that pavement work is also complete in this area, the exit of the theater now has rolling planters in place, blocking guests’ view.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” opens on May 27, alongside another Animation Courtyard offering: “Get Animated.” The limited-time dance party is part of Cool Kid Summer and temporarily replaces “Disney Junior Play and Dance!” The current show will close beginning on May 25. Animation Courtyard will also offer games, crafts, and outdoor entertainment.
Another show, “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” will also debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27. It replaces Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy in Sunset Showcase, next to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
