We stopped by the Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside to try a few new menu items, including the Steakhouse Burger, Street Corn Fries, and more.

Riverside Mill Food Court Review

Riverside Mill Food Court

Riverside Mill Food Court is a counter service restaurant open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. We specifically visited to review three new items added to the lunch and dinner menu, though the location is also open for breakfast.

Steakhouse Burger – $14.69

Beef Burger topped with Shaved Beef, Swiss Cheese, and French Onion Aïoli

We have to admit, this is still a basic Walt Disney World burger patty, just like the ones served at most counter service restaurants. However, we give this one credit for being cooked better than usual and not being overly well-done. The shaved beef over the top is a little chewy, but it added enough flavor that we didn’t mind the extra effort.

The highlight of this burger is the French onion aioli combined with the Swiss cheese, which is extremely flavorful and matches the theme of the location as well. The bun was soft and fresh, so it didn’t feel like it was sitting for hours under a heat lamp. Overall, this is one of our better counter service burger experiences in a while.

Korean-style Impossible Burger – $14.49

Impossible Patty topped with a Korean-style Barbecue Sauce and Pickled Vegetable Slaw

A cardboard tray with fries and a sandwich topped with purple slaw at Disney's Port Orleans Resort.

Since this burger is made with an Impossible patty, it is totally vegan. The patty seems to be rubbed with an extra spicy seasoning, which we somewhat expected with the name. However, we definitely want to include a warning that this was spicier than we had anticipated, and is on the hot side for the usual “spicy” counter service fare at Walt Disney World.

Spice aside, you get a unique tang from the barbecue sauce and a nice crunch from the vegetable slaw. This bun was standard, and we thought it was a little dry compared to the other burger bun. Nonetheless, this is a really unique burger option, especially for a plant-based option, and we would get it again. You would definitely enjoy this if you like some spice.

Street Corn Fries – $6.49

French Fries topped with Roasted Corn Relish, Cotija Cheese, and Cilantro-Lime Crema

Our initial reaction to these was a little confused, because the corn relish topping on ours was served cold, and we weren’t expecting it. That being said, the topping over the salty fries was still really good. We liked the flavor of the corn, the lime is present for an extra bit of acid, and the cheese helps to blend everything together.

Definitely don’t order this if you are not a cilantro fan, because there are large chunks of it mixed in practically every bite. Again, we like that these fries didn’t play things safe and went for some more unique flavors, though we might still like the topping a little warmer next time.
