The National Weather Service in Melbourne, FL has issued an Extreme Heat Warning and a Heat Advisory for Central Florida on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Walt Disney World Experiences Extreme Heat Warning
The Extreme Heat Warning is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. EDT on Tuesday for Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Osceola Counties, including the cities of Orlando, Kissimmee, and Celebration.
Walt Disney World Resort is primarily in Orange County as well as Osceola County while Universal Orlando Resort is completely in Orange County.
A Heat Advisory is in effect for the surrounding counties of Brevard, Okeechobee, Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin.
An Extreme Heat Warning indicates there are dangerously hot conditions with heat index values (the “feels like” temperature with relative humidity factored in with the actual air temperature) up to 110 to 115°F (approximately 43 to 46°C). These conditions could lead to heat related illnesses.
The National Weather Service recommends people drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles as car interiors will reach lethal temperatures within minutes.
When it’s necessary to go outside, take precautions like wearing lightweight and loose fitting clothing, taking frequent breaks, and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Take action if you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke like nausea, vomiting, flushed skin, rapid breathing, racing heart rate, confusion, agitation, and slurred speech.
Much of the eastern United States is suffering under a “heat dome” causing dangerously hot conditions. Heat Advisories are in place from Texas to New Hampshire, with Extreme Heat Warnings from Southern Illinois down to Louisiana, as well as in Georgia, Ohio, and West Virginia.
