Haunted Mansion Operating Normally After Skipping Stretching Room for Days in Magic Kingdom

According to recent reports, guests are once again able to experience the stretching room of the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom after it was skipped for several days earlier this week.

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom to ride the Haunted Mansion may have been disappointed earlier this week that they completely skipped the stretching room portion of the attraction. Since Thursday, July 17, guests have been walking through the stretching room from the queue of the Haunted Mansion without stopping. Instead of pausing for the stretch segment, guests went directly into the room where they are loaded into the Doom Buggies.

According to a WDWNT source, the Haunted Mansion has been having technical difficulties with one of the two stretching rooms not operating correctly. Rather than run the attraction with only one operational stretching room, thereby making the line slower, Disney opted to skip this portion of the attraction for several days.

However, as of July 19, it has been reported that the Haunted Mansion has been functioning normally again and the stretching room is operational. Guests visiting Magic Kingdom can now experience this iconic part of the attraction as intended.

The Haunted Mansion has also been the recent location of some refurbishment work. After a construction permit for the address of the Haunted Mansion was filed early this year, some construction walls and tarps were added to portions of the queue in front of the attraction’s facade. The work involved replacing a portion of the cobblestone guest walkway near the ghostly hearse, though some of the concrete work later extended toward the attraction’s exit. All of the walls and tarps were removed in June, and the work now appears to be complete.

For all of the Haunted Mansion fans, a huge collection of new merchandise has also arrived at Magic Kingdom ahead of the Halloween season. Several of the items have since materialized at the Disney Store for guests to purchase online.
