The Main Street Cinema in Disneyland Park is temporarily closed for the installation of a Sherman Brothers tribute.
Main Street Cinema Closed
The Main Street Cinema will be closed on Tuesday, July 15, and Wednesday, July 16. Its red doors are closed, and barriers block access to the building.
It will reopen with the Sherman Brothers tribute on July 17 — the actual 70th anniversary date of Disneyland Park. The marquee already reads “So Much That We Share – A Tribute to the Sherman Brothers.”
A sign behind the barriers reads, “The MagicBand+ experience at Main Street Cinema is not available at this time.” This is in reference to the special Disneyland 70th anniversary MagicBand+ interaction that has been available from Tilly’s booth. It will presumably return with the space’s reopening.
“So Much That We Share” is a line from the “it’s a small world” theme song, which the Sherman Brothers famously wrote. Coinciding with the tribute’s opening, the “Last Verse” of “it’s a small world” will debut on the ride. The verse, below, was written by Richard M. Sherman before his death in 2024.
Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.
Disney hasn’t shared much information about the tribute, but it will include showings of the three-and-a-half-minute short film “The Last Verse.” The film was originally released in November 2024 and can be watched below.
