The preshow of Rock N Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is now boarded up in preparation for the upcoming transition to Rock n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Disney has confirmed to us that work has already begun on the new Muppets version of the ride. This is being done to minimize the amount of time the attraction will be closed to complete the project in 2026. Work will be completed in phases.

The recording studio is now walled off from guests with a series of G-Force records logos. Once the doors to the preshow open, guests now walk straight through to the loading area of the ride without waiting.
For comparison, below is the area that is now covered up. It was where guests saw Aerosmith in a recording studio for a video preshow that would explain the premise of the attraction. The band learns they are late for a concert and their manager arranges for the band and the guests to ride along in their super-stretch limos to the show.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets
The new version of the attraction will be named Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. A new version of the previously-released poster features the logo, with “Starring The Muppets” in a graffiti style. The artwork is also slightly updated, with a different design on the car.
The Muppets will replace Aerosmith as the attraction’s stars next year.

The concept art of the Muppets Rock n Roller Coaster’s exterior includes a psychedelic makeover for the giant guitar in Rock n Roller Coaster Courtyard. The piano motif at the base of the guitar will include one gold key as a nod to Dr. Teeth’s gold tooth. A permit was filed for paint work on the guitar in April. The concept art also includes the poster on the wall of the building.

Guests are on a VIP tour of G-Force Records. Though the Electric Mayhem have a concert across town, they’re delayed in the recording studio, which guests will see as part of the new pre-show.
In the booth is a team of penguin audio engineers. The penguins and Scooter are animatronics. Miss Piggy and Kermit appear on screens.

Backstory
According to the backstory, Scooter’s uncle — real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse — purchased G-Force Records and put Scooter in charge.
After the pre-show, guests board the attraction. “With the help from our friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine,” Disney describes, “we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.”
The scenery and landmarks will feature a Muppet twist. Guests will also hear the Electric Mayhem playing iconic hits. Disney teased a setlist coming soon.
The Muppet takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster comes after MuppetVision 3D closed permanently to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land on the other side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
