First Look at Monsters Unchained Animatronics

There will be 14 animated figures on the Universal Monsters ride, located in the new park’s Dark Universe section. Seen in the video embedded below are figures of Frankenstein’s Monster, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, and Wolf Man.

A statue of a creature with green scales, sharp claws, and glowing eyes, like a monster unchained, reaching upward with an open mouth.

Other animated figures that will be present in the ride are:

  • The Mummy
  • The Brides of Dracula
  • The Phantom of the Opera

Dark Universe is one of five worlds at Universal Epic Universe, opening in May 2025. The land will also include the Curse of the Werewolf family spinning coaster, the fast-casual restaurant Das Stakehaus, The Burning Blade Tavern, Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities gift shop, and the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience.

In a shadowy realm, the monstrous trio stands unchained: a werewolf with bristling fur, a vampire baring sharp fangs, and a Frankenstein-like creature marked by stitches.

In Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the work of her ancestors deep below the family estate. A demonstration of her experiments to control monsters goes awry when Dracula leads a revolt of enraged monsters including The Wolf Man, The Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and more.
