BouTiki, the main gift shop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, has been undergoing a phased refurbishment focused on the flooring. That refurbishment is now complete.

The refurbishment, which began on June 2, took place in phases so that the store could continue to operate. Portions of the store were closed and merchandise shuffled around to accommodate guests while the flooring was replaced.

At that time, planters blocked one side of the entrance. Now, guests can access the full shop. There are no significant aesthetic changes to the design.

BouTiki is located in the Great Ceremonial House, the main facility building of the resort where the lobby, check-in counter, shopping, and dining are located. The flooring refurbishment was potentially due in part to flooding that occurred in May 2024, which caused some warping. Shortly after the flooding, water would ooze up from the floor while guests walked across it. The problem was resolved shortly thereafter, but it’s possible the water damage created long-term problems.

The project was confirmed to be completed when Walt Disney World removed the construction notice from the gift shop’s official webpage. A new Polynesian Village Resort-themed merchandise collection debuted recently at BouTiki.

Nearby, construction continues outdoors, where a new entrance is being constructed from the roadways. The project will continue through 2026, though no concrete end date has been given at this time.

Work is also being done to the roof of the Aotearoa building, which houses guest rooms.
