In the early morning hours of July 17, 2025, two ceremonies honoring the park’s 70th anniversary were held at Disneyland. The first ceremony was with Cast Members in attendance, while the second was open to guests.
70th Anniversary Ceremony with Cast Members at Disneyland
Disney CEO Bob Iger made an appearance at both ceremonies, along with Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro. The pair took a moment to take a selfie on Main Street before the Cast Members-only ceremony began.
Both D’Amaro and Iger spoke for a moment to those in attendance to celebrate the milestone anniversary. The ceremony preceded the pair of executives ringing the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) bell live from Main Street, U.S.A. on Thursday morning.

In addition to the ceremony, Cast Members at Disneyland were treated to seeing the 70th anniversary hot air balloon, an updated Tapestry of Happiness projection show performance, and the installation of a new Zootopia-themed Main Street window.
A second ceremony followed in front of the Main Street train station at the Disneyland park gates, open for guests to attend. The ceremony began with a performance from the Dapper Dans and the Disneyland Band.
Next, D’Amaro and Iger took the stage to say a few words to the crowd.
Iger was then joined by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the rest of their pals. The characters were wearing their Disneyland 70th anniversary costumes that first debuted back in May.

Disneyland’s anniversary celebrations kicked off in May, but the official birthday is July 17. On the actual date, more new offerings were added to the slate of existing anniversary activities. Walt Disney — A Magical Life and historical exhibits opened at the Main Street Opera House, a tribute to the Sherman Brothers is now playing at the Main Street Cinema, and a new verse has been added to the finale of “it’s a small world.“
Guests can also enjoy special entertainment, including a one-day-only birthday cavalcade and Celebrate Happy cavalcade, Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular, the Paint the Night parade, and Tapestry of Happiness at Disneyland. Over at Disney California Adventure, catch World of Color Happiness! at night, the Better Together parade in the afternoon, and special targets on Toy Story Midway Mania!
