Spicy Hot Dog with Pineapple Chutney and Plantain Chips – $8.00
Rank out of 7: 6
Perhaps one of our (definitely Tom’s) favorite returning items is the spicy hot dog. You receive a full hot dog for your money, slathered in pineapple chutney and crumbled plantain chips. The hot dog delivers on flavor and spice. Each bite has a pop against the perfectly cooked exterior leading to a wonderfully spicy interior. The chutney adds a cool pineapple flavor and the chips add a nice crunch. It’s a filling dish and best shared if you plan on enjoying the rest the festival has to offer.
Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.75
Rank out of 7: 6
A slush so iconic they had to make Minnie ears to match them. We can proudly say that the admiration is much deserved. The Violet Lemonade slush is sweet, refreshing, and takes a nice picture.
DOLE Whip® with Fanta® (Non-Alcoholic) – $6.75
Rank out of 7: 4
Pineapple Fanta fills the bottom of this cup. The pineapple Dole Whip mixed with the soda works very well and surprisingly isn’t overpowering. The only problem you’re going to run into with Flower & Garden is A) the portion of Dole Whip and B) how icy it comes out, to the point of almost being flavorless. Typically the version at Magic Kingdom is very light and airy, this comes out stiff and dense. It’s still the only place to get the soft serve in Epcot, so if you feel the price is worth saving a trip to Polynesian Village or Magic Kingdom…
3 Daughters Brewing Tropical Hefe, St. Petersburg, FL (4.6% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.
From 3 Daughers Brewing: “Tropical haze takes center stage in our fruit-forward hefeweizen. As notes of coconut and banana play alongside juicy mango and pineapple flavor, every sip of this hazy wheat ale sends you straight to the tropics.”
*NEW* Copperpoint Brewing Co. Tropical Hibiscus Blonde Ale, Boynton Beach, FL (5.0% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.
From correspondence with Copperpoint Brewing Co., this beer is a festival exclusive. It’s a “blonde ale with hibiscus and lemon,” offering “big floral notes with a touch of lemon zing with a dry, refreshing finish.”
*NEW* Wicked Weed Brewing Perni-Haze Hazy IPA, Asheville, NC (6.9% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.
From Wicked Weed Brewing: “This hazy hop delivery vehicle is to be enjoyed fresh and often. Citra and Simcoe from our favorite hop fields drive this juicy IPA. With its crush-ability and effortless finish, you’ll never look at a hazy IPA the same.”
Playalinda Brewing Company Violet Lemonade Ale, Titusville, FL (5.2% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.
From Walter P. on Untappd: “Tastes like flowers. A little tart from the lemonade, but light and easy drinking.”
Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Pineapple Wine, St. Petersburg, FL ($30/bottle) – $12.00
From Florida Orange Groves Winery: “Our sparkling Pineapple wine offers you and your palate a crisp and refreshing taste of Florida in a bottle. Made from 100% pineapple juice you won’t need to imagine hints of flavors or finishing notes.”
DOLE Whip® topped with Sōmrus Mango Cream Liqueur ($29/bottle) – $12.50
Rank out of 7: 4
This was quite refreshing. It tasted too strongly like pineapple and the mango liqueur was only at the very very bottom. It was still good, but we got more of a pineapple taste than we did the liqueur.
