The Citrus Blossom – EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
The Citrus Blossom premiered at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in 2019, and returns for its fourth year. “Treat your taste buds to delicious dishes and beverages that showcase bright citrus fruits like lemon, orange and grapefruit.”
This year’s 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival takes place March 2 – July 4, 2022.
Menu for The Citrus Blossomat the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
There’s a lot happening here. The large pieces of pork belly are crisp…and rather large. We wish it was cut slightly smaller, but that’s our only complaint. The avocado, corn salsa, and cilantro keep it fresh. The plantain chips give it a crispness which matches the pork belly. It also has a slight kick to it. We recommend this.
Tuna Tataki Bowl with Spicy Yuzu Glaze, Mango, Avocado and Pappadam Crisp – $6.25
The tuna is fantastic. It’s flavorful, well-spiced, and presented beautifully. The cracker it’s served with is somewhat unnecessary and the drizzle of spicy Yuzu glaze was a bit too heavy for our liking. The mango in the dish was fresh and added a sweet finish to the tuna. For tuna fans, it’s still worth getting due to the sizable seared tuna slices you get with it, but we felt that the previous version of the dish was a bit better.
This tart was delicious. The grapefruit in the name might throw people off, but it was awesome. It had a cheesecake-like consistency, which really helped the dish. This is one worth trying!
Orange-Lemon Smoothie in a Souvenir Orange Bird Sipper Cup (Non-Alcoholic) – $15.00
The orange-lemon smoothie is a refreshing treat, and while the sipper is new, the smoothie itself is not.
Islamorada Beer Company Key Lime Hibiscus Ale, Islamorada, FL (5.3% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
Islamorada Beer Company describes their Key Lime Hibiscus Ale as “lightly tart with an earthy floral flavor and bright citrus punch.”
*NEW* Wicked Weed Brewing Orange Peel Ale, Asheville, NC (5.7% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
According to Untappd, “this citrus forward brew boasts aromas and flavors of mandarin oranges, lemon peel and grapefruit. The addition of tangy hops and sweet orange peel creates a juicy pale ale that will speak to your palate the way good music speaks to your soul.”
From correspondence with 81Bay Brewing Co., Citrus Honey Cream Ale is “brewed with honey malt and orange blossom honey, contributing a sweet consistency balanced with flavors of key lime and lemon zest.”
Orange Sunshine Wine Slushy – $6.00
The wine slush is amazing. It’s just sweet enough, with creamy citrus flavors to make it pop. This is definitely a booth favorite. The non-alcoholic version that comes inside the Orange Bird Sipper is great, too.
