Northern Bloom – EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

People line up outside a small wooden food booth on a cloudy day at the Flower & Garden Festival. Some are wearing casual clothes and jackets. Trees and a castle-like building appear in the background, adding charm to the festive atmosphere.

Northern Bloom first appeared at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in 2017, and returns for its ninth festival this year. “Discover palate-pleasing fare from our northern neighbor… O Canada!” This year’s 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival takes place March 5 – June 2, 2025.

Two beef tenderloin tips served on a bed of whipped potatoes and adorned with carrots. Overall the whipped potatoes and vegetables were perfectly done, however the beef was overcooked and chewy. There’s a lot of potential for this item with the accompaniments as well as the savory sauce, but it really depends on the cut of beef you get.

Disney has scallops down to an art, which is surprising because they can be very temperamental (the scallops, not Disney). These were wonderfully cooked to be very smooth and buttery with just a slight bit of crunch from the bacon exterior. The green beans were cooked well and were complimented by the vinaigrette. Our only complaint would be the portion size seemed small but this could be first day jitters.

Chocolate-Maple Whisky Cake – $4.75

A lot is happening here, so we’ll do our best to break it down. To start, the chocolate on top reminds us of a Krispy Kreme donut. Moving on to the cake, it’s incredibly dense and has a caramel flavoring, confusing us as that isn’t an ingredient listed. The cake was also a bit dry, leaving us wishing that ice cream was served as a side. The maple cream on top does a bit to help cut the dryness, but there isn’t enough for it to be effective. We did end up getting some of the whiskey flavor on the back end, though, which was a positive for us. Overall, this isn’t the best dessert at the festival, but it also isn’t the worst.

*NEW* Stone Brewing Delicious IPA, Escondido, CA (7.7% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz. $9.75 for 12 oz.

According to Stone Brewing, this beer has “spicy, herbal and citrusy hop aromatics balanced with light-toasted malt. The spiciness is reminiscent of lemongrass.” It has a “medium body with a bitter, dry finish.”

Collective Arts Brewing Grapefruit Lime Sour, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (5.2% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From correspondence with Collective Arts Brewing: “Spring may have just begun but we decided to ring in the summer early with this margarita-inspired gose! Made with real grapefruit and lime juice as well as Himalayan salt and coriander, this refreshingly tart brew will have you thinking of the beach and ignoring the April showers. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!”

*NEW* Collective Arts Brewing Hazy State Session IPA, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (4.1% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From Collective Arts Brewing: “This hugely flavorful, yet extremely sessionable Double Dry-Hopped IPA is made with 16 grams per liter of Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic and Centennial hops. Citrus and Tropical fruit notes dominate, but is also balanced with a smooth body that makes this one super easy drinking IPA.”

Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Blackberry Wine, St. Petersburg, FL ($50/bottle) – $12.00

From Florida Orange Groves Winery: “Our Sparkling Blackberry wine offers you and your palate a crisp and refreshing taste of Florida in a bottle. Made from 100% blackberries, you won’t need to imagine hints of flavors or finishing notes. This exquisite sparkling wine strikes your palate with its crisp and intense flavor, then leaves you with a long juicy Blackberry finish. Cheers!”
