THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews first appeared at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival in 2013, and returns for its seventh consecutive year in the festival in 2019. “Saddle up for slow-cooked specialties and a mighty fine selection of craft beer—at the American Adventure Pavilion!”

This year’s 2019 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival takes place March 6 – June 3, 2019.

You can ask for it without the coleslaw to make this sandwich one of the safest options of the festival for picky eaters. The pork is tender and flavorful.

Rounding out this solid Outdoor Kitchen is the shredded beef brisket. Like the other brisket offered at this location, it’s smokey and nicely spiced. We recommend this dish!

We spoke at length with one of the chefs working The Smokehouse, who enlightened us to the time and love put into creating this offering. What you get is a petite burger bun with pork belly, beef brisket, and melted cheese in the middle. On top is a pickle chip and sausage, both made (proudly) in-house. The quality really shows here across the entire dish, don’t miss it!

It’s unbelievably good. Get this cake, split it with your family and friends, or better yet save it for yourself to savor and enjoy. Served hot with a warm caramel glaze to pull the dish through, it’s one of the best desserts the festival has to offer.

Three good beers that pair well with the barbecue items. Pick yourself up the flight and enjoy it with the pork belly slider.

For the price, you get about 10 ounces of frozen lemonade with a healthy portion of blackberry moonshine. It’s a little overpriced for the size, but there’s a great tartness that is very refreshing.

Central 28 Brewing Company Sunshine Greetings Orange Hibiscus Wheat Ale, DeBary, FL (4.7% ABV) – $4.50

From RateBeer: “Orange Hibiscus Wheat Sunshine Greetings is an American wheat ale brewed with hibiscus and orange peel. Light, fruity & refreshing, this ale has a light pinkish hue and a bright, floral aroma. Light citrus notes blend seamlessly with the rosy / gently-tart character of the hibiscus – Subtle malt sweetness backs the easy going floral notes, giving this beer complexity paired with superb drinkability.”

3 Daughters Brewing Phantasmas Spicy Double IPA, St. Petersburg, FL (8.8% ABV) – $4.50

According to RateBeer, this is a “tequila barrel-aged spicy IPA,” which according to 3 Daughters Brewing, is brewed with “a ton of jalapeños.”

Shipyard Maple Bacon Stout, Clearwater, FL (9.2% ABV) – $4.50

According to RateBeer, this beer has “has a dark rich stout backbone with the sweetness of maple and the smokiness of bacon.”

*NEW* Boneshaker Zinfandel, Lodi, CA ($14/bottle) – $6.00

According to Hahn Family Wines, Boneshaker Zinfandel contains “blueberry and blackberry flavors, with lightly spicy aromas,” and is “balanced with a pleasant mouthfeel, filling viscosity and a gentle toasty finish.”

Jason has been a lifelong fan of the Disney parks since his first visit at age 2. His biennial pilgrimages during his childhood accelerated into semi-annual visits by the year 2000, when he also Joined the Disney Vacation Club.
