Wine & Dine Studio – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
The Wine & Dine Studio, introduced in 2016, returns for the 2019 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, taking place August 29 – November 23, 2019. The menu remains the same from 2018, though the cheese selections in the Trio of Artisan Cheese have changed.

Like we said in last year’s Coastal Eats review: Disney knows scallops, and they know them well. These seared scallops are no exception to that rule. A few small scallops adorn the top of a truffled celery root puree with a generous portion of mushrooms on the side. It’s a rather large and filling dish, especially for the price. Both entrees at Wine & Dine are rather heavy and hearty, great in their own way but certainly not best for an ultra-hot day outside.

Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter Vinaigrette, Parmesan Cheese and Pumpkin Seeds – $4.50
Two expertly prepared butternut squash ravioli adorn this plate. There’s a few pumpkin seeds and slices of Parmesan cheese on top. Over $2 a ravioli seems a bit hard to swallow, but these are really spectacular and taste like a true fall dish. We couldn’t think of another booth at Food & Wine that could pull these off this well. Maybe not the best option in 90+ degree weather, but moving towards late September/October, these will be wonderful.
Artist Palette of Wine and Cheese (Trio of Artisan Cheese paired with Trio of Wines) – $11.25
Gorgonzola with Cow & Sheep’s Milk paired with Reata Chardonnay: This cheese is rich rich and funky- so exactly what you would expect for a gorgonzola. The wine alone is not great. Muted flavors and no personality. If the goal was to let the cheese shine, then I guess it is acceptable.
Artigiano Aged Balsamic & Cipolline Onion paired with Rainstorm Silver Linings Pinot Noir Rosé. Again, the star here is the cheese. The best of the three cheeses in this trio. Remember, you are eating cheese in 80-90 degree weather outside with no shade. So if you MUST have cheese, this is the one to go with. As far as the wine pairing, this is a very underwhelming Pinot Noir Rosé. The only thing I would suggest is drinking it right away, because once the sun hits it, you are not going to enjoy it.
Italico paired with Spellbound Petite Syrah: This was interesting. I’m not sure if this wanted to be a soft or hard cheese, but mixed with the fruit on the plate it wasn’t terrible. Again, (see a theme here) the wine was blah and just okay. Since the fruit mixed the cheese dominates your palate you don’t get a lot of unique characteristics for wine. It basically becomes a way to wash down this “interesting” cheese.
Jamieson Ranch Vineyards say their Reata Chardonnay “features juicy, fresh fruit aromatics and flavors of apple blossom, honeydew melon, guava and grapefruit zest. The creamy texture and rich flavors of toasted oak are framed by a bright acidity that lifts the fruit and leaves a lingering finish.”
From Folio Fine Wine Partners: “Spellbound Petite Sirah has an intense color and generous bouquet of rich blackberries and blueberries, vanilla bean and roasted coffee, all in a remarkably approachable glass. The wine is crafted to unleash dark and luscious characteristics, while managing tannins to deliver an opulent and juicy Petite Sirah.”
