Say goodbye to Catastrophe Canyon and the Premier Theater as Disney has wasted no time in starting to clear land for Toy Story Land and the 14-acre Star Wars themed land at Hollywood Studios. We are happy to give you this exclusive, bird’s eye glance at the now closed backlot area and the work that has already been done:
As you can see, most of the Premier Theater has been leveled already
Catastrophe Canyon is GONE
The Earfful Tower still stands, but ground is being broken next door
We also have a video flyover to share with you as well:
I’m surprised they haven’t pulled Disney’s plane out of there to a holding location yet. That would have been among the first things I’d want to protect.
I hope the plane gets saved maybe it can get moved somewhere but with DHS being construction zone might thay move it to that place in ca that has walts stuff?
this was an awesome idea guys, great post!
It looks like the plane will stay put because there is no need to move it. But unsure when are where they will move it to is beyond me.
So very interesting. I was there when they had “soft” opening of MGM studios.just for employees and family. I pleaded for them to let me and my parents in. They did. My parents so enjoyed back lot tours and catastrophe canyon. Memories I will long cherish. Thank you keeping us filled in.
