BREAKING: Annual Passholder Previews Begin Soon for Pandora – The World of AVATAR, Dates Revealed

Walt Disney World annual passholders will be getting a first-look at Pandora: The World of AVATAR with exclusive previews of the land scheduled to happen in just-a-little-over two weeks time.

Floating mountains grace the skyline while exotic plants fill the colorful landscape inside Pandora – The World of Avatar, which opens May 27, 2017 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Pandora – The World of Avatar will bring a variety of new experiences to the park, including a family-friendly attraction called Na’vi River Journey and new food & beverage and merchandise locations. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of four theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Kent Phillips, photographer)

Online registration should open very soon for annual passholders to sign up for one of two preview dates for Pandora: The World of AVATAR, April 8th or 9th, 2017. It is possible that more preview dates will be scheduled later, but these appear to be the first two, at least.

Rumor has it that there will be some restriction on “technology use” for guests who partake in the preview, perhaps a ban on photography and video recording, but we will have to wait and see exactly what that means. Again, this preview would be over a month and a half before the official opening of the land to guests.

As the project is still being finished up, these dates can still change, but it seems the previews will take place before the month of April 2017 is over, at the latest.

  1. Jeez… there is going to be many people complaining, including myself. April 8th and 9th is blacked out for gold and silver passes so only the platinum and platinum plus ppl would be able to. Unless they change the block outs, or unless they hopefully have other dates, the rest of us won’t be able to have a “preview” day until April 22 the latest. Unless they do allow the other Passholders to preview but make it like a night exlusive event.

      • I can only see this happening if Disney were to host the passholder preview after hours exclusively for passholders. I have seen them do this in quite some time. In addition, with this being one of their busiest season I doubt them will change blackout dates or close the park to regular ticket guest for a preview. Knowing Disney they probably choose this date to limit the amount of passholders that will actually be able to attend the preview.

      • A real pass what a jerk thing to say i spent over a 1000 bucks on our passes were still passholders and deserve just as much respect as the next person keep the smart remarks to yourself

        • Platinum Plus Passholders get very few added perks over the other pass levels. There should be preference to those who pay substantially more. Our family spent several thousand on passes and we expect to get more than those who pay a lot less.

          • Wow you really must not understand how life works. You paid much more for getting a little more, they don’t owe you anything. They didn’t point a gun to your head and say you must buy the platinum pass. You CHOSE to pay more, if the benefits do not match what you’re paying, than you’re just stupid for choosing that option. Here’s logically why they would never suddenly decided to up your perks. Say the preview is only for platinum pass holders, great for you, but then you have angry lower tiered pass holders with pitchforks because they can argue that they would’ve gotten platinum if they had known about that park. Or assume they suddenly gave platinum pass holders 50% table service. Say you’re 7 months into your pass and you’re going to be mad because anyone that signs up that day forward gets 50% off for 12 months and you get 5 months of that. So next time try weighing your options before choosing the most expensive and assuming it’s the best.

  2. It would be thrilling to be part of Disney history. Please let me know where & how to register to be among the pass holders to experience pure Joy & Thrills.

  3. As stated above, most AP’s will be blocked except for Platinum. April 8th is the start for Easter block dates. Nice touch, Disney.

  4. I am Platinum….. and I am arriving that day, with FP and ADR for the 8th in AK!! This would be awesome!

    • In passholder events past, all persons attending must be an active passholder. We always had to show our active annual pass; not saying that this time it could be different.

      • The people telling you to go to WDWmagic.com are trolling you, trying to trick you to going to that web site.

        • Jesse you should be ashamed of yourself for lying to these poor people just to make sure that you and your friends get reservations. It’s people like you that have made this site go downhill so quickly.

  5. “WDWNT, LLC is an unofficial site and is not in any way affiliated with The Walt Disney Company.” Registration would not be on this website at all.

      • She means stop asking Tom about when/where to register because this site has nothing to do with Disney and the only information Tom has is what he can annoy out of cast members.

  6. Wait, a while back, there was some alleged Disney employee here telling us how Disney was going to restrict access to these new park areas from AP holders for up to one year. Guess that was straight up BS…as expected.

  7. I just looked through the site and I can’t find the registration link, could someone link it to this thread? Thanks!

  8. HAHAHAHAHA we’re not even training Cast over there yet. There is NO WAY it’s ready for previews anytime in April unless by “preview” you mean “walk around and look at stuff”.

  9. Cast isn’t beginning to train there til April 9th so, no there will not be a preview of any kind on those dates. Stick to legit Disney sites for the truth. These people said we were going to have previews of Rivers of Light for Cast last April and we all knew it was a lie.

    • The preview WAS real. The show experienced bigger problems than anticipated and was canceled…no one “lied.” The More You Know! (shooting star)

  10. I believe that online registration will begin around April 8-9th. My guess is that the preview will actually be in early May

  11. What about cast members anyone here a cast member and gave heard anything about a soft opening like they did fro rivers of light

  12. I challenged you on Twitter to a $100 bet to Give Kids The Wworld if your dates were wrong. You didn’t accept, and 24 hours later you tweet that previews aren’t happening in May?

If you don’t stand by a story enough to put $100 on the line for charity, don’t run the story.

    • Because heaven forbid Disney announces stuff internally and changes it last minute once park ops or a similar department catches wind.

    • So, in other words, you were desperate to “humiliate” Tom for a potential misfire, but you didn’t want to look like a complete a**hole, so you used a charity bet to make you seem like a decent guy?

      Cool story, bro.

  13. Just an FYI…
