WDWNT Reporter Dirk Wallen visited the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot last week and has a number of newsworthy photos to share with us, so let’s take a look:
Work continues on the Villas at the Grand Floridian as we approach the opening in October
Things are still a bit of a mess right now
Moving to the Magic Kingdom, the post for the Hall of Champions sign is walled
Cinderella’s fountain is still roped off from guests… we think some Brazilian tourists tried to bathe in it…
Still nothing to see over at Princess Fairytale Hall
FastPass+ has been testing a lot at the Magic Kingdom
A look at the Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train construction
A look at the backside along with Triton’s Treasures
This portion where the track makes a wide turn and dives underground looks exciting!
Moving over to Animal Kingdom, work continues on the new Festival of the Lion King theater
The walls now have some themed signage
You can see the crane from various places in Africa
On Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Addax are still in place…
But they are still trying to re-introduce the Zebras
So the Zebras may make a full-time return soon… or not
Work has been completed on the FastPass+ queue at Finding Nemo: the Musical
Heading over to Epcot, another round of turnstile conversions has begun
FountainView is still preparing to be the next Starbucks location in the fall
Walls are still up around what should have been a new food cart months ago…
The FastPAss+ signage is up and running at Journey Into Imagination with Figment
Signs also went up at the Seas with Nemo and Friends
Work continues on Spice Road Table in Morocco
We can see construction going vertical now
Thank You, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Fastpass+ at Journey into Imagination? because hardly ever a wait is to much for some people…..
Fair… enough…
Racist comment. Brazilian fan leaving the site. Tip: check the audience in Google Analytics.
Actual comment we were told by a cast member, so this happened…
Some people just look for reasons to be upset…
Hi There. I think, people, no matter their born country, misbehave all the time. Americans, Canadians, Italians, whatever, are not a great example of behave either. I had problems once waiting to get in Candlelight Processional, when an american drunk guy just cut of the line. The Disney Cast Members didn't do nothing and I was totally disappointed with Disney and, above all, with people (not americans, brazilians, canadians… PEOPLE). Of course, I put the guy behind us, and the only family in front of us (the first ones to get into the theater that night). The lady of this family (she was with two girls) said to me: "thank you for stand up for us.". Than, chatting, I told her that we were from Brazil, and she rushed to tell me: "I'm embarrassed for this guy behavior, and I want you to know that not all americans are like this one." Laughing I comforted her: "I know! I've always have been very well treated here in US, and I know that are good and bad people all over the world." Well, what I mean is: bad behavior doesn't have color, nationality, gender, unfortunately, it's like a plague growing world wide. So, intolerance born in this type of comment "brazilians (or italians, or whatever) were bathing in the fountain…". When it could be more generalist, and, this way, don't cause more intolerance in this sick world. Yeah, I'm aware about the brazilian bad behavior, and, as that gentle lady told me, I'm telling you now: "we are not all like this people." Unfortunately, the brazilian economy grew faster then the education. I apologize for this people, and, hope, we can build a world less intolerant with races, and TOTALLY intolerant with bad behavior, once again, no matter what.
Greetings,
Renato
Nothing wrong with the comment, if a Brazilian bathed in the fountain you were only stating a fact. Too many people feel comments are racist, but people should watch their behavior if they don't want to be called out for it.
FastPAss+ at Journey Into Imagination with Figment is really sad and a testament this whole thing is a scam. The ride is so awful it doesn't deserve to have a line at all.
You just made me a very happy man on many counts…
Epcot Starbucks on the way (btw, any idea of a date, or what they're considering "fall"?)
Return of the Zebras…
More Spice Road updates…
Thanks for the update!
Love these photo reports, thank you!! I love seeing the changes happening at WDW, and your photos bring it so alive. Why was the Hall of Champion sign walled? Those Addax are really beautiful! And I'm excited for the Epcot Starbucks, a new restaurant in Morocco, and especially the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train … I hope it's a similar experience to Big Thunder Mountain :)
Woohoo! This is an incredible photographic report (can you tell I'm a first timer to the site?)! I plan on returning with MUCH more regularity. I feel like I just visited the parks, so thanks for the awesome photos (and hilarious commentary too)!
