Tamu Tamu Refreshments is located in Africa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Known for being the first location outside of Magic Kingdom to sell the famous pineapple Dole Whip, Tamu Tamu has recently added unique sundaes and ice cream to the menu. We stopped by to check out the new Malva Cake Sundae.
Malva Cake Sundae – Warm Spice Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Caramel – $5.99
The spice cake is served warm, so expect the ice cream to melt fast in the Florida sun. That’s not a bad thing, though, because the caramel and vanilla turn the spiced cake into a masterpiece. All of the flavors work stunningly well together. There’s a slight dusting of cinnamon on top that doesn’t overpower the overall spice of the cake. This is an item I would have over and over again, now elevated with the ice cream over its previous incarnation at Harambe Market.
It’s a really awesome treat that should really shine in Africa during this summer with Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary around the corner! After you chow down on a Malva Cake Sundae, go get a Jungle Juice with Rum over at Dawa Bar! Now that’s what I’d call a good day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
