After only 17 days, “Avengers: Infinity War” has become the 5th highest grossing movie of all time.
Domestically, Infinity War took in $61.8 million this weekend, bringing it’s domestic gross total to $547.8 million.
Infinity War debuted in China this weekend and made over $200 million, which was the second biggest opening in China’s history.
Infinity War has also become the highest grossing superhero movie of all time by breaking the $1 billion mark and sitting at a total of $1.059 billion.
The total worldwide gross for Infinity War is currently at $1.607 billion making it the 5th highest grossing movie of all time. Right now, Jurassic World is sitting at 4th place with $1.671 billion, and Infinity War is expected to take that spot sometime this week. Next up, in 3rd place, is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which has a worldwide total of $2.068 billion. In 2nd place is Titanic with a worldwide total of $2.188 billion. And sitting at the top of the mountain is Avatar with a worldwide total of $2.788 billion.
This weekend, Infinity War will face it’s first real competition with the release of Deadpool 2. The original Deadpool had an opening weekend gross of $132 million. Deadpool 2 will probably bring in similar numbers, but depending on critics reviews, it could go either way. Then the following weekend, Solo: A Star Wars Story opens, and that’s a Star Wars movie. But expect Infinity War to continue to chug along for the next few months as it continues to break a few more records.
