Be our guest at a new Mandarin-language production of the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast debuting in Shanghai Disneyland next month. The Walt Disney Grand Theatre in Disneytown, located just outside the gates of the park, will host this spectacular performance beginning on June 14.
Previously, the theatre housed a Mandarin version of The Lion King which ran from June 2016 to October 2017. Some of the cast of the Lion King will remain to be a part of Beauty and the Beast. The show features all of the famous songs from the classic 1992 movie along with original songs by composer Alan Menken.
Menken also met with the cast recently in Shanghai and performed with Meng Xu who will play Mrs. Potts. The cast also includes YaoRong Guo as Belle and DouEr Sun as Beast. Tickets go on sale on Thursday May 24 and can be booked on the Shanghai Disney Resort website.
