Updated Concept Art for Disneyland’s New Parking Structure, Pedestrian Bridge Added

A new pedestrian bridge will allow Disneyland Resort visitors to more easily traverse Magic Way.

Disney announced Thursday that the 6,500 space structure under construction near near Mickey & Friends at the resort will include a pedestrian bridge over Magic Way.

The bridge will connect the new parking structure to the rest of the resort, creating easy travel between it, Downtown Disney and the parks. The pedestrian bride is also meant to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow.

Disney said the new parking structure, which will open an some unspecified time next year, is expected to speed up guest arrival at the park by providing a 60 percent increase in the number of accessible lanes and by adding parking capacity on the west side of the resort.

As part of the project, the tram boarding area will also be reconfigured to improve transportation between the new structure and the Mickey & Friends parking area.
