Flo’s Holiday Offerings

The holiday season has brought three items to Flo’s V8 Cafe for your consideration: the Blue Plate Special, the Chocolate Peppermint Milkshake, and the 4-inch Chocolate Peppermint Pie. In addition to Flo’s Holiday Offerings the interior and exterior of Flo’s is highly festive which helps create a jovial atmosphere for patrons.

Blue Plate Special – $12.49

The Blue Plate Special is a toasted piece of white bread with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and turkey piled high on top of it. They then ladle gravy on top to give it a finishing touch. The dish also comes with broccoli and cauliflower as a side vegetable.  The dish comes very close to being good, but falls just short. Ultimately the dish could have used something else to add texture or flavor. The gravy doesn’t have a distinctive taste which is also something you might say about the turkey and the bread. The garlic mashed potatoes were the best part of the Blue Plate Special.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake – $5.99

PeppermintShake

The chocolate peppermint shake that I received was actually a vanilla peppermint shake. I didn’t notice that it was supposed to be chocolate until going back to the front to take a picture of the holiday food and drink sign in side of Flo’s V8 Cafe. Even though it was a vanilla milkshake with whipped cream, Oreo pieces, and crushed candy cane pieces I still thought the milkshake was good. I suspect that it is even better with a chocolate shake underneath the aforementioned holiday toppings. Definitely worth the money, especially if you go Disney California Adventure on a warm day.

4″ Chocolate Peppermint Pie – $5.39

PeppermintPie

The last of the holiday food choices is the 4-inch chocolate peppermint pie. This tasted like a brownie baked in a small pie dish with peppermint infused whipped cream on top of the brownie. Our party was split on this one. One person liked it, one person disliked it, and I came down in the middle. There was no denying though that the dish was very festive to look upon and was fresh in terms of the quality.

The food and drink items are available at Flo’s V8 Cafe until January 8th. Let us know what you think about Flo’s V8 holiday selections in the comments below.
