The holiday season at the Disneyland Resort has just started, so it’s time to review the new ice cream options at Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream. Clarabelle’s, in Disney California Adventure Park, is well known to be one of the go to destinations for all your ice cream needs in the park. From single hand scoops to delicious shareable (or not shareable, I don’t judge) sundaes, Clarabelle’s got it all. This year for the holidays, Clarabelle’s is offering various chocolate peppermint ice cream desserts. Let’s take a closer look at two of the new offerings.
Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Sundae – $7.99
If you’re a big fan of peppermint, check out the Peppermint Ice Cream Sundae. The Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Sundae is a dream come true. Delicious scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream come together in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl. The bowl also features lots of crushed peppermint. On top of your ice cream you will find whipped cream, more crushed peppermint, and two chocolate dipped cookies. Think of the cookies to be just like Oreos. If you’re not the biggest peppermint fan, you want to stay way from eating the top of waffle bowl which tastes like you’re biting into a candy cane. The peppermint has a very strong and overpowering taste, so the waffle and chocolate taste at the top of the bowl are barely noticeable.
Chocolate Peppermint Bar – $5.69
Next up, let’s take a look at the Chocolate Peppermint Bar. This is a little bit more customizable than the Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Sundae. For the bar, you can decide if you want the coating to be milk chocolate or dark chocolate. After choosing your coating, you will be choosing between chocolate or vanilla ice cream for the inside of the bar. I went with the dark chocolate coating and vanilla ice cream. Your mileage may vary when it comes to taste depending on how you customize your Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Bar because it’s so customizable.
The ice cream bar comes topped with drizzled peppermint icing as well as crushed peppermint. This one is a lot more doable, even if you’re not a huge peppermint fan. You will definitely taste the peppermint on the ice cream bar, but it’s not as overpowering as the Chocolate Peppermint Sundae.
No matter which one you’ll go for, you’ll be in for a treat.
