PHOTOS: Planet Hollywood Signage Removed, Legends of Hollywood Signs Go Up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Planet Hollywood Super Store closed on Saturday, but Disney is quick at work on expanding the Legends of Hollywood shop into this entire block of stores on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

As you can see, all of the Planet Hollywood signage has been removed and signage has gone up for Legends of Hollywood.

Hopefully some new neon is coming and this won’t just be a blank spot.

The marquee calls Legends of Hollywood “The Showplace of the Boulevard”. We’re unsure if this is the permanent signage or something else is coming. Only time will tell.

Posters now advertise the Legends of Hollywood “theater”. If the old Legends of Hollywood store acts as the lobby to a theater themed shop, I would be ecstatic. I’m probably being too hopeful.

A Gone with the Wind poster alludes to the park’s past. I am hoping this stays and doesn’t get replaced with some Disney movie poster.

If you’d like to see what the store looked like just before it closed, check out our video tour below:

There is no end date announced for the project, so we don’t know when this will be done, but we’ll be keeping our eyes on it until it is ready.
