VIDEO: New Pixar Short “Kitbull” Released, Available Now on YouTube

Pixar has released their latest SparkShorts animated short titled Kitbull, and for being doodles about a cat and dog, it packs a strong emotional punch. Seriously, people. Have your tissues ready. Kitbull, directed by Rosana Sullivan and produced by Kathryn Hendrickson, reveals an unlikely connection that sparks between two creatures: a fiercely independent stray kitten and a pit bull. Together, they experience friendship for the first time.

In Pixar’s Instagram post, they also hinted that the short will be released as part of the Disney+ streaming service library once it launches in late 2019.

The interesting thing about this short is that it’s a huge departure from Pixar’s usual 3-D animations as a 2-D, hand-drawn animated short. Go behind the scenes and see how the artists at Pixar made it in this fascinating clip:

What do you think of the short? We appreciate its message about giving all animals a second chance at having a home. (I’m still crying.)
