The last time we showed you the site for the new Swan and Dolphin hotel, “The Cove”, construction walls had just gone up. Demolition recently began in earnest to clear the site for construction. The new hotel is being built on land previously occupied by part of the Fantasia Gardens complex (picnic pavilions, tennis courts, et cetera).

Luckily, the Miniature Golf Course is not being directly affected by the construction. You can still go enjoy a round of golf as of now.

There are lots of construction walls up along the complex, even more than a few weeks ago.

Part of the parking lot is blocked off as a staging ground.

Demolition has started on one of the picnic pavilions. The other one is almost completely gone.

This is a view of the mess they’ve made so far from the parking lot.

In the area of the former tennis court, they’re removing the trees along the construction walls. Interestingly, they didn’t just cut them down. They’re carefully removing them and saving them for later.
