The 4th version of Soarin’ to open worldwide, Soaring Fantastic Flight will open at Tokyo DisneySea on July 23rd, 2019. Based on the popular attraction, Soarin’ Around the World, which has been enjoyed by guests visiting the Disney parks outside Japan, the attraction at Tokyo DisneySea will feature original scenes and the newest visual images. The Emmy-winning composer Bruce Broughton, who’s created the scores for other Disney attractions, such as Soarin’, will return to create the score for Soaring Fantastic Flight.
The backstory behind the new attraction is that it will take guests into the Museum of Fantastic Flight, which is dedicated to the dreams of flying. The current exhibit on display will be honoring Camellia Falco, a name we’ve seen in Disneyland’s new Tropical Hideaway. Falco was an innovator and a member of S.E.A. the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. As guests take in the tour inside of the museum, they’ll be able to see all of the adventures that Camellia has been on before boarding on her latest invention, a flying vehicle known as the Dream Flyer.
Recently, the tarps around the facade were taken down, revealing what has to be the nicest building to hold this attraction anywhere in the world.
Located in the Porto Paradiso/Mediterranean Harbor section of the park, the attraction takes place in a flight museum, unraveling the story of aviation legend Falco, a member of S.E.A. (the Society of Explorers and Adventurers).
The facade blends perfectly into the existing land. If you’re visiting for the first time this Summer, you wouldn’t even know that this was added later than the surrounding area.
Going around the right side of the Zambini Bros. Restaurant will give you this view.
There’s a lot of layers to this facade, providing a tremendous sense of depth.
A trellis will cover some of the exterior queue.
This wall in the foreground was already there, but it blends nicely into the Soaring area built around it.
Sure beats an airplane hangar, doesn’t it?
Advertisements at official resort hotels now reflect the imminent opening.
