The fun never ends at the Disneyland Resort. Guests who have enjoyed the newly opened Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration exhibit in Downtown Disney can head over to Marceline’s Confectionery for even more Mickey-shaped surprises. For a limited time, three new Pop-Up Disney! desserts are available and they’re just as sweet as they look.
We received the Mickey-Shaped Fudge on a Stick and the Mickey-Shaped Marshmallows with our tickets from the exhibit. The specialty Mickey-Shaped Cake Pop is also available for purchase to guests of the exhibit. You will need to show Cast Members in the shop your ticket in order to receive these desserts.
Mickey-Shaped Marshmallows
As cute and decorative as these marshmallows look, they are fairly disappointing to eat. They taste like chocolate coated Peeps, which did not make for a dessert worth more than one bite. There’s nothing else to say about them, really, and we don’t recommend wasting your time eating these. However, if you like Peeps, then maybe you will want to enjoy this dessert. Don’t say we didn’t warn you, though.
Mickey-Shaped Fudge on a Stick
In all honesty, we laughed at the idea of fudge on a stick. It seemed like a silly notion. However, this sweet indulgence was very tasty. The outer shell is made of milk chocolate while the inside is filled with white chocolate. It’s made to resemble a Mickey Ice Cream bar. This is quite a thick and dense fudge, making it heavier to hold than it looks. Thankfully it comes in a plastic wrap so you can save some of it for later, because this is too sweet to eat in one sitting.
Overall, we really liked this dessert and we think it’s an item that should remain in the bakeries at the Disneyland Resort permanently.
Silver Mickey-Shaped Vanilla Cake Pop – $4.99
This is your average vanilla cake pop, which is not to say it’s not good. In fact, it was great. The mixture of cake and frosting inside was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet to not finish in a few bites. The silver shell is very sparkly, especially in the sun. But the silver does rub off on hands and lips, so we suggest having napkins available. If you like cake pops, you’ll love this dessert.
Despite the disappointing marshmallows, overall we really enjoyed these Pop-Up Disney! desserts. After all, is it really a new celebration at the Disneyland Resort without a matching, specialty food item?
