“Aladdin” was king at the box office this weekend bringing in $86 million at the domestic box office, and heading towards an estimated 4 day total of over $105 million to end the Memorial Day weekend. Overseas “Aladdin” also performed very strong bringing in and additional $121 million and resulting in a worldwide box office total of $207 million for the weekend. The original Disney animated classic earned a total of $504 million at the worldwide box office.

Coming in third place was “Avengers: Endgame”. “Endgame” brought in $17 million at the domestic box office and is expected to bring in an additional $5 million on Memorial Day. Overseas, Endgame brought in $15 million, bringing its worldwide box office total to $2.677 billion. “Endgame” has accumulated over $800 million at the domestic box office, becoming only the second film ever to do so. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” brought in $937 million during its domestic theatrical run.

With “Avengers: Endgame” now at $2.677 billion at the worldwide box office, the magic number needed to dethrone “Avatar” as the highest grossing movie of all time is $111 million. “Avatar” has a total worldwide box office of $2.778 billion. This is going to be a very slow race to the finish as each week “Endgame” plays in less theaters, generates less money then the week before and it comes closer to its theatrical end. Next weekend will be very competitive with the release of “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” and “Rocketman”.
