With “Avengers: Endgame” smashing into theaters across the globe last week and shattering records with $1.2 billion in box office worldwide, Disney is riding the wave of ever-increasing Marvel popularity to recap some of the attractions coming to Disney Parks worldwide. Check out all that’s in store below!
Avengers are setting up new headquarters around the world and will be assembling in a major way at Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort in California, Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. Recruitment begins in 2020 in California, but check out everything we know so far as you get ready to suit up alongside the Avengers!
Guests don’t have to wait until 2020 to get in on the action. In March, the all-new interactive attraction Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland as the resort’s second Marvel-themed attraction and the first to feature a female Super Hero as a lead character. Check out our full ride POV below!
This comes on the heels of fan-favorite Iron Man Experience opening in 2017 and is part of the continued development of an ultimate hub for Super Hero action in the region as part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s multi-year expansion, plus the hugely popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure park.
I know people are getting frustrated with all the IPs coming to Florida, but WDW really needs more Marvel other than the coaster that’s coming to Epcot. Animal Kingdom needs more rides, and Africa is a perfect place for a Wakanda-themed adventure, and if they don’t do that, then Disney is not milking their properties properly.
Unfortunately, due to contractual agreements put in place before Disney bought Marvel, Universal has exclusive rights to use pre-Guardians Marvel characters inside theme parks in the Eastern US. The contract quite literally states anywhere ‘East of the Mississippi’ as the boundary line. Universal has Marvel Superhero Island at Universal studios Orlando and you’ll find the original Avengers there. Disney can’t legally promote or do anything really with these characters inside a theme park in Florida. I believe they’re allowed in places like Disney Springs since it’s not a ‘theme park’. In 2012 or 2013 they couldn’t even let the promotional Avengers-themed monorail operate on the EPCOT loop because it would technically be ‘inside a theme park’ if it passed through.
I wish I was kidding. If Disney could, they would. I suspect that they’ve been working out how they can ‘remedy’ this situation now that they own the Marvel brand but only time will tell. See the article below:

How about the previously announced Avengers ride in Hong Kong? Is that cancelled?
They’re not talking about it yet. Should be the same roller coaster coming to DCA.
