Jambo! from another day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! It was a rather gloomy looking day, and I was racing the rain, so let’s get this park walk started.
Even though the Park celebrated it’s 21st birthday on April 22nd, you can still spot plenty of 20th anniversary banners around Discovery Island.
My first stop of the day was exploring the newly-reopened Tree of Life Garden Path.
The catfish is still “out foraging.”
This path is such a beautiful, quiet, and serene part of Animal Kingdom. It doesn’t have a very obvious entrance, so even on a busy day like this one, I didn’t encounter many people walking down it, and often found myself completely alone with the Tree of Life. It makes for some really cool and awe-inspiring moments.
It also makes for some really good opportunities to get some up close views at all of the detailed carvings in the Tree of Life. When you’re just glancing at it from a distance, it’s easy to overlook all of the intricate designs.
On a stop into Animal Kingdom’s Starbucks location in Creature Comforts, I came across this new Flamingo Cupcake. I’ve definitely had better cupcakes on property, check out the full review to find out why you should never trust what anyone tells you is in a Disney cupcake.
Walking towards Pandora, I checked in on the progress of the location of what will be Animal Kingdom’s Club 33 location. It looks like they’ve started clearing more land since our last update. The scrim fence has been moved significantly down towards the walkway.
Over in Pandora, there’s a decent amount of new merchandise that’s made its way into Windtraders.
If you are in the market to adopt your own banshee, the yellow and the teal colors in the boxed set with the perches are priced at $25.00 off, which basically just means that the perch is free as it is usually $24.99 if you were to purchase it on its own.
There are also new additions to the Metal Earth collection in three new banshees in different colors. The Metal Earth figures always look like the coolest collectibles to me, but coming from someone who has bought and built three of them and almost ripped my hair out in frustration all three times, they’re something I swore to never purchase again. However, these banshees look a considerable amount simpler than the Utility Suit pictured next to it, so one of these might be a good introduction (or in my case, a re-introduction) to the Metal Earth collection.
