The ABC Commissary has reopened today and looks better than ever! After undergoing a brief refurbishment, the restaurant is back open with a fresh coat of paint, new carpets, and brand new seating. Let’s take a look!
The exterior of the restaurant looks nice and polished. As you make your way through Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll be sure to want to stop here for a quick bite to eat and some air conditioning.
Outside, the new menu is posted, so you can get a glimpse of what’s being offered inside without having to make your way all the way up to the counter to order.
Here’s a closer look at the lunch menu.
Once you make your way inside, you’ll see the palm trees are still there. There’s also some makeshift queue lines in place, as this restaurant sure does get busy as the day goes on.
As you can see, it was already gearing up for lunch time when we stopped by with hungry guests waiting in line to order.
The brand new self-serve soda fountains are in place, but they aren’t open for lunch just yet.
They’re covered up by the curtain for the moment. We’re assuming they’ll open for dinner when the Commissary changes over later in the day. Starting on June 2, you’ll have to get a reservation for dinner, which will be starting at 4:00 PM. This will change the restaurant from a casual quick service, to something similar to that at Be Our Guest’s lunch service.
They will be switching from paper and plastic diningware at lunch to reusable plates and silverware for dinner. Here’s the new bus station that will help accommodate for that when dinner starts.
The new carpet pops against the new furniture. It ties in the elements of old Hollywood with the gold tones and peacock feathers fanning out throughout the pattern.
The new seating looks great and makes the restaurant look much more sleek and modern than it did prior to its refurbishment.
As always, there are posters lining the walls highlighting ABC’s newest shows. Here we can see posters for “Black-ish”, “Good Morning America”, and “World News Tonight”.
What do you think of the new ABC Commissary? Are you a fan of the refurbishment? Will you be trying to get a reservation here for dinner soon? Let us know in the comments!
I was in there for dinner when they were testing the table dining service. It was a mess as servers were searching everywhere just deliver food to correct tables. The Braised Beef on the dinner menu was delicious and a lot of food for I think $14.
The TVs are gone!
Will anything be different about the evening reservations? Characters? Better/different food choices? Will it be more expensive?
I go there for dinner when I’m at HS because they are the counter service restaurant at HS that has kosher meals on demand. So now it looks like I’ll need a reservation!
I’ve got dinner reservation for November haven’t been to this place before i’m assuming it’s still going to be quick service for dinner and not table service credit on the dining plan. Can’t wait to try this place in November
