Just yesterday, we announced the closure of Mickey’s of Hollywood, one of the oldest storefronts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as yet another historic piece of the park goes under for refurbishment.
Mickey’s of Hollywood was regarded as the Emporium of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, taking up the entire first block of store facades to the left upon entering the park on Hollywood Boulevard. We got to pay our last respects to the whimsical shop last night during its final hours of operation in this full store closing tour:
Today, the store is officially closed for refurbishment.
Across the street at Celebrity 5 & 10, they’ve taken in some temporary registers and leftover merchandise racks from the now-closed Mickey’s of Hollywood:
These temporary registers are in place to alleviate the result of having three stores closed on the main boulevard of the park.
The shop on Hollywood Boulevard is set to close on May 14th, 2019 and remain closed through September 2019.
Keystone Clothiers and Legends of Hollywood are also currently closed for similar remodeling projects. All three stores are expected to look very different when they return.
