REVIEW: Raspberry Lemon Razzle Dazzle Glacier at Big Top Souvenirs in The Magic Kingdom

One of my favorite parts of the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom is “Big Top Souvenirs”. It’s one of the larger gift shops in the park, but it’s also full of lots of fun snacks, like any good circus should be. In addition to cookies and candy apples, they also have a selection of frozen slushies (or Glaciers, as they call them). Just for this month, they’ve premiered an interesting new flavor: the “Raspberry Lemonade Razzle Dazzle”.

It comes in a 16 ounce cup, and will run you $4.99. Fun fact, though, since Big Top Souvenirs is considered a merchandise location and not a quick-service, they do accept an annual pass discount! (That’s a whole dollar cheaper!)

It looks about how you would expect from a slushy. That’s not the important part, though. The flavor is what matters! So, is it any good?

Short answer: yes! I was expecting it to be tart, like raspberries often are, but this was very mellow and sweet. The lemonade flavor and the raspberry mix together well into something completely unique. It’s not overly sweet, either, like the Witch’s Brew down the path at Prince Eric’s Village Market.

Gravity is not this drink’s friend.

My main problem with this drink was how quickly the ice and the flavor separate. It’s worse than a snow cone. This was less than five minutes after I purchased it. You really have to drink it quickly, anyway, because the paper straw they give you will disintegrate if you wait too long. Just don’t give yourself a brain freeze.

For $3.99 (after an AP discount), this isn’t a bad choice for a hot day. It will definitely cool you down without giving you a sugary headache.
