Brace yourselves, Walt Disney World, the release of Toy Story 4 is imminent, coming up on June 20th, which means Forky is coming to take over our summer, our merch, our lives, and our Park treats.
A new Forky themed éclair has arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I know, you’d think it would be safe to assume it would be at Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land, but you’d be wrong. It’s being served at Backlot Express, about as far away from Toy Story Land as you could possibly get in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (Did that stop me from ordering it and walking it all the way over to Toy Story Land? From the photo above, obviously not. #sorrynotsorry)
This is advertised as a chocolate hazelnut éclair, but those are only part of the ingredients that make this up. It also comes with this white chocolate wafer on top, with the printed Forky on it, as well as the phrase “I’m Homemade” (which I find slightly ironic, because while yes, Forky is a homemade toy by Bonnie, this is about as far from a homemade treat as you can get, considering you’re purchasing it inside a theme park). Under the white chocolate wafer is a thick layer of orange filling with pieces of hazelnut sprinkled on top, and a layer of Nutella.
This was, by far, the messiest treat I’ve ever attempted to eat at Walt Disney World. As soon as I bit into it, the orange filling oozed out the sides and was all over my face and hands, and it was STICKY (in all caps, it wasn’t messing around) when I tried to wipe it off. Granted, if you order this at Backlot Express and eat it immediately when its served to you out of the fridge, the orange filling might not be as messy where it will still be cold. That said, I actually enjoyed the taste pairing of this treat. The orange filling tasted like a melted creamsicle, and it went really well with the flavor of the Nutella.
The Forky Hazelnut Éclair can be found at Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, priced at $5.99.
