REVIEW: New FOMOsa at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom

Another day, another new treat has arrived at Magic Kingdom, this time at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland. We made the trek over and tried the brand new FOMOsa!

FOMO is an acronym for “Fear of Missing Out”, and honestly, I’m not entirely sure what that could have to do with this dessert, which is Orange-flavored Dole Whip floated on top of sparkling apple cider, served in a plastic champagne flute. Unless it’s a fear of missing out on an alcohol buzz, because you’re drinking a virgin drink out of a champagne flute.

I ordered the drink exactly as it was advertised, with just the Orange-flavored Dole Whip, to try it as it was intended on the menu. While the pairing of apples and oranges isn’t something I’d immediately think would work, I quite enjoyed the Orange soft serve with the sparkling cider. My only complaint was the ratios were a bit uneven, as I did not get very much cider at all at the bottom of that champagne flute, versus the amount of soda you get in the normal cup that the other floats are served in.

One thing to note, when I ordered, the Cast Member asked me if I’d prefer the Orange Dole Whip, or the more tart Orange Citrus, so you can have your choice of what you’d like paired with the sparkling cider.

You can see in the photo that since the champagne flute is so narrow, quite a bit of the soft serve hangs over the edge, which means you have to be prepared and ready to eat as soon as this is served to you, because it started melting QUICKLY. I ended up wrapping the entire flute in napkins, which totally killed the vibe of being able to feel fancy and cool walking around Magic Kingdom with a champagne flute in hand, which I think might be part of the point of this treat.

If you’re looking to pick one of these up for yourself, it’s available at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom for $5.99.
