Welcome to WDWNT’s coverage of D23 Expo 2019! We are on the show floor and here to show you all of the details, concept art, and more that’s on display.
Today, we’re taking a closer look at the ride vehicles for TRON Lightcycle/Run, as well as Cast Member costumes and concept art for the attraction. Right off the bat, you’ll notice a lot of similarities with the TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction from Shanghai Disneyland, with a few tweaks for Walt Disney World.
The ride vehicles/bikes for the attraction do seem slightly larger than the Shanghai ones, but these were just out for display, so we weren’t actually able to test them. (These tend to run notoriously small for many American guests when visiting Shanghai Disneyland)
At the base of the ride vehicle we have the attraction’s logo, with the stylized attraction name. Notice they dropped the “Power” from the attraction name.
Concept art shows the attraction’s exterior canopy and winding queue.
Costumes are also just like the ones from TRON Lightcycle Power Run, with all-black ensembles featuring reflective teal and white panels.
TRON Lightcycle Run is set to open in 2021, just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. If you aren’t familiar with the attraction, you can watch our POV video of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run from Shanghai Disneyland here:
